Appearance
Portal
Controls the renter portal — the logged-in area where renters sign, pay, upload, and request bookings.
Enabling it
One switch. Off, and renters interact only through the no-login signing and invoice links.
There is not much reason to leave it off. The portal is the feature that reduces phone calls.
SMS login codes
Optional. With it on, renters can sign in with a six-digit code by text as well as by password or magic email link.
Worth enabling if your renters skew toward people who do not reliably have email on their phone — which, for community halls and 4-H clubs, is most of them.
Branding
The portal carries your logo and account details from Settings → General. Renters see your organization, not ours.
Default reminder schedules
The portal-related reminder cadences default from here. Individual invoices and tasks can override them. See Reminders.
Inviting renters
Portal invitations are sent per renter from their profile, Overview tab — invite, resend, or reset.
Invite with the first contract
Send the portal invitation at the same time as the first agreement. The habit forms on the first interaction, and a renter who signed through the portal looks for their invoice there too.
Portal contacts
A renter can have several named logins — see portal contacts. Renters can invite their own additional contacts from inside the portal, so the club treasurer does not need to go through you.
