Service Fees

Named, reusable charges you attach to invoices instead of typing them each time: a cleaning fee, a staffing charge, an after-hours surcharge, a damage waiver.

Creating one

FieldNotes
NameWhat appears on the invoice line
TypeFlat amount or percentage
ValueThe amount, or the percentage
DescriptionOptional detail for the invoice

Using them

Attach a service fee to an invoice and it becomes a line item. Percentage fees calculate against the invoice subtotal.

Not the same as payment service fees

Two different things with similar names:

WhereWhat it is
Service fees (this page)On the invoiceA charge for something you provide
Payment service feesSettings → PaymentsA fee on the payment method itself

A cleaning fee belongs here. A 3% card fee belongs there.

Worth setting up

Anything you type onto invoices more than a few times a year. Beyond saving the keystrokes, a named fee appears consistently across every invoice — which means it can be reported on, and "how much did we take in cleaning fees" becomes a question with an answer.
